Ricky Carroll's balsa surfboard | Tony Arruza Commercial ...

A couple of months back Ricky Carroll asked if I could design an inlay for a balsa board he was shaping for the Surf Expo that was recently held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. We had just completed surfboard #3 of my surfboard/art project and he was impressed with what we had done. I was delighted with his request to use an inlay design on one of his beautifully hand crafted, and expensive, solid balsa surfboard.

can you use an artboard to surf?

this might be a dumb question but if I didn't ask I wouldn't know

are art boards strictly for display?
or can you use them like a regular surf board?

I only have a generic ass board
so I don't know anything

Boards with elaborate designs can be seen in surf magazines every now and then. They're super expensive, and usually reserved for pro surfers.

Anyone else riding that doesn't rip, reeks of kook if you're riding an extremely elaborately
