Tigers 15 - Twins 14

The Tigers built an antediluvian lead and then hung on for precious life as the Twins came storming defeat in the bottom of the 7th inning only to take leave of the tying and winning runs on station.  The Tigers scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st but the Twins made it a 4-3 competition after 2 innings.  The Tigers gave themselves some breathing chamber with 5 runs in the top of the 3rd on Matt Humphries 2 run HR and then scored 2 more in the 4th on Todd Smith’s 2 out 2 run triple.  The Twins would motionless trail 11-6 after 5 innngs when the Tigers posted another 4 run inning in the 6th for a cordial 15-6 lead.  From this crux on, it was all Twins.  David Jolley delivered a 2 out 2 run isolated that was followed by Bryant Goodman’s 2 run triple and it was hurriedly a 15-10 game heading into the 7th.  The Tigers could not mug in the top of the 7th and Aaron May lead off the bottom of the 7th with a copy.  Butner Brimberry, Mike Morreau, John Trounce, Dave Budnick, and Nick Crews all followed with singles.  The Tiger show the way had been cut to 15-13 but the Twins had the bases devious an no one out.  Tim Slaughter hit a hard clay ball right next to the third miserable bag that resulted in a double misuse and almost the only triple contend with of the season.  Even all the same the score was 15-14 the wind seemed to be knocked out of the Twins and Goodman flew out to center to end the high-spirited.  Preston buckman was the pre-eminent hitter for the Tigers with 4 hits and 3 runs scored.  Todd Smith had 3 hits and 5 RBI’s while Caleb Boyd and Chris McEwen both added 3 hits.  Nab Crews, John Slaughter, and Dave Budnick all had 3 hits for the Twins.  Every trouper on the Twins had at least one hit.
