Last week, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission with cooperation from CAMP USA issued a recall of Photon carabiners as well as Photon and Mach Express quickdraws. The voluntary recall affects approximately 15,500 units sold. Consumers are asked to stop using the recalled products immediately. The recall was issued because it was discovered that the carabiner’s gate might open under heavy loads.

Can you use a climbing carabiner to tow?
I have a 12 kn climbing biner. can i use that if i need to tow something with rope of chains? or is supported to be used only for climbing?

Climbing gear is for climbing. Period. Once used for a purpose other than climbing it is no longer climbing gear. I have old biners that I paint so they are clearly marked
